Steven Paul
Steven started at the UIC in 2025. His UIC journey commenced a year earlier when he was encouraged to attend a Universal Improvement Skills public course. After years of leading teams to improve their processes in a largely ad-hoc fashion, Steven was captivated by the UIC's logical and evidenced-based approach.
He started his career as an accountant. During his 10-year tenure as the principal of an accounting practice he realised that numbers were not his passion. Rather, he was driven by developing organisations and their people to improve services to vulnerable people and their communities. This led him to two CEO roles in the Community Transport and disability industries which is where he worked until joining the UIC.
Steven lives with his family on Gumbaynggirr Country on the NSW Mid North Coast. Having recently moved onto his first rural block, he is learning to enjoy time on the ride-on mower, weeding and waiting for the veggie patch to flourish. Outside of that he is never too far away from football (the version played with a round ball) or trying to keep up with his energetic 2 year old.
