Nottingham Booking Office, 1981. Now that's a proper ticket machine, a Multiprinter - big and bad. Iris Stadnik and Muddassir Nawaz on duty.

W/E 5 September 1981. An 88 hour working week and I would have enjoyed every second. 38 hours ordinary, 38 hours overtime and a 12 hour Sunday.

1982. Paid weekly in cash.

12 October 1983. Promotion to CO2.

The new Nottingham Booking Office, windows 1 to 3, 1983 I think. It's a new office but the ticket machines are vintage. Note the Handiprinters and slug racks, Ultimatics and we still had a nice selection of Edmondson tickets although those nasty pop-up racks aren't a patch on the real thing. It's night turn and I had my tripod with me. The floats are ready for the early turns coming on starting at 06.00. Depending on what time I took these, there may still be a Guard or two to pay in off the last trains from London. My last job later on will be to book the 06.20 London, then home to bed.
